Debo's private side revealed in new exhibition

A collection of rarely seen and intimate photographs of the late Dowager Duchess, Deborah Devonshire, will go on display this month.

The images of ‘Debo’ and those in her social circle were largely taken by her friends and well known portrait photographer Cecil Beaton.

The exhibition of 65 photographs - which opens at Chatsworth House’s New Gallery on March 19 - takes its inspiration from one of Beaton’s most famous remarks: “Perhaps the world’s second-worst crime is boredom; the first is being a bore.”
