CLOSURE of a dementia care centre will be debated at a full meeting of Sheffield Council.
Labour councillors announced plans last month to close Bole Hill View dementia care centre in March 2014.
The centre, on Northfield Road in Crookes, provides respite care to dementia sufferers.
Coun Rob Frost, Lib Dem councillor for Crookes, has been campaigning to keep the centre and has collected hundreds of signatures on a petition opposing the closure.
He said: “I’ve heard from lots of families who are hurt by this proposal. People want the great service offered by Bole Hill View.”
Labour says the closure is due to a need to reduce costs because of Government cuts.
