South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has warned residents they have just three weeks left to have their say on planned changes to frontline firefighting.

The service must make cuts of £10 million by 2015 and is proposing to close Darnall and Mansfield Road fire stations and open one near Sheffield Parkway; close Mosborough station and open a new one at Birley; remove crews at Edlington in Doncaster and Royston in Barnsley and shut Royston station and remove three engines used countywide for firefighter training.

The consultation period finishes on Monday, February 6.

All responses will be collected and the fire authority will make a final decision shortly afterwards.
