Deadline looms to nominate for your champions

Do you know someone inspirational in the Isle or who has gone above and beyond the call of duty? Then why not nominate them for a North Lincolnshire Community Champion Award?

North Lincolnshire Council welcomes nominations from those who have dedicated their time to volunteering, overcome barriers or excelled in a sport or the arts.

It also welcomes nominations from community groups for their work in the local community, and those that are a true inspiration to others.

The awards are spread over four categories: Volunteers; Achievement; Community; and Inspiration.

You can nominate people by completing the online form at www.northlincs.gov.uk/nlcawards, request a nomination form by emailing [email protected] or call 01724 297270. You can also pick up a nomination form at any local link or library in North Lincolnshire. For more details about the awards, visit www.northlincs.gov.uk/nlcawards

The awards ceremony will be held at The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe on Thursday November 27.

Councillor John Briggs, NLC’s deputy leader, said: “There’s just two weeks to go before nominations close, so ensure you don’t miss out and nominate today.

“We want nominations from all walks of life – if you know anyone who is worthy of receiving an award this year for something they have done that has helped make a real difference, please nominate them.

“It is easy to nominate.”

The closing date is Sunday 21 September 2014.
