Daniel Pudil signs new Sheffield Wednesday contract
Sheffield Wednesday defender Daniel Pudil's impressive performances in the second half of this season have been rewarded with a new contract.
Pudil has been one of Wednesday's most consistent performers since Jos Luhukay took charge in January, moving into a central defensive role as the manager switched to three at the back.
“It’s for someone else to say I’m playing well,” he said. “This formation we are playing I feel much more comfortable. I don’t want to say I cant play left back anymore but age is killing me a little bit, I can not get up and down like I used to. I feel much better in this position. “Maybe this position can extend my career a little longer and fingers crossed I can get another few years over here.”
Pudil, who signed from Watford, initially on loan in August 2015, before moving permanently the following season, has signed a one-year deal.
The 35-times capped international has made 101 appearances for Wednesday, scoring four goals.
