Dad’s phone hack relief

Have your say

A SHEFFIELD dad whose soldier son was killed in Iraq has been told his mobile phone was not hacked into on behalf of the News of the World.

Bill Stewardson, of Broomhill, father of Kingsman Alex Green, who died in 2007, feared he may have been a victim after revelations about how the newspaper hacked into the voicemail messages of bereaved service families.

But Mr Stewardson has been reassured by DC Zoe Goring, from Operation Weeting, the police investigation into phone hacking. She said: “I have checked your details and information you provided against the material that we currently hold. At this point, it appears you have not been a victim of phone hacking.”
