A GROUP of 34 people representing Sheffield Woodcraft Folk will cycle coast to coast from Whitehaven to Whitley Bay on a fundraising ride.

The 140-mile ride will take four days to complete and raise cash to pay for a delegation of youngsters from Pakistan to visit Sheffield and join a Woodcraft Folk International Camp in August.

The cyclists make their way across the Lake District and Pennines and will be spending their nights under canvas.

Finn McKay, aged 15, said: “We’ve been out on a few training rides and I’m really excited about it.

“It’s a good cause and I’m looking forward to having the delegation over.”

The Woodcraft Folk group is holding an International Camp in Sherwood Forest during the first 10 days of August on the theme of ‘co-operation’.
