Cyclists hurt in hit-and-run in Doncaster

Police are seeking a motorist after a hit-and-run in which two cyclists were injured in Doncaster.

The cyclists were riding along Cadeby Lane, towards Melton Road, High Melton, when they were struck by a silver Ford Mondeo travelling in the same direction at 1am yesterday.

One of the cyclists, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries.

The other, a man in his 30s, suffered minor injuries.

Both were taken to hospital.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "The driver of the Ford Mondeo failed to stop at the scene and police investigating want to appeal to the driver of the car to contact them."They would also like to hear from you if saw what happened or saw the car before the collision."Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
