A CYCLIST was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car in Sheffield.
The 34-year-old man was riding along Carr Road, in Deepcar, when he collided with a grey Citroen Berlingo at around 11.40am on Tuesday.
He was travelling around a slight bend towards Manchester Road when he was hit by the Citroen, which was heading in the opposite direction.
The cyclist, from Rotherham, was taken to the Northern General Hospital, while the driver of the Citroen - a 75-year-old man from Deepcar - was not injured.
Manchester Road was closed at the junction with Carr Road while emergency services attended the scene.
