Cyclist dies after being struck by a car in Rotherham

A cyclist has died after he was in a collision with a car in Rotherham.

The 29-year-old man was involved in a crash with a blue Ford Fiesta being driven by a 26-year-old woman on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the collision happened at 2.20pm on Far Dalton Lane, Wickersley.

A police spokesman said: “Near the junction with Hill Top Lane, in Dalton Magna, it is believed an orange pushbike, being ridden by a 29-year-old man and travelling in the opposite direction, reportedly emerged from the grass banking to the nearside of the Fiesta.

“The pushbike came into collision with the Fiesta, and the man, from Maltby, sustained fatal head injuries.”
