AN 11-year-old cyclist suffered leg and head injuries after being involved in a collision with a car in Sheffield.

The smash involving a black BMW 318 happened at around 5.20pm on Monday at the junction of Sycamore Road and Scholes View in Ecclesfield.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The boy was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital for treatment having sustained a fractured right leg and lacerations to his face. “His injuries were not life threatening. The driver of the BMW, a 33-year-old local man, was not injured.”
