Cut down the monster tree

A new street lamp has been erected by Amey and the head of the lamp is surrounded by the branches of the tree.

When the tree was in full leaf, 50 per cent of the light was wasted.

Now the tree is devoid of leaves, a large section of the road is now well lit, as is the opposite pavement.

Many requests by residents have been made to the council over the years to prune the tree, but these have been ignored.
