Customers in shock as iconic Doncaster dining venue closes after three decades

Woods’ Tea Rooms in Wood Street made the announcement on its Facebook page – leaving customers reeling.
It is not clear if the closure is related to the current coronavirus crisis.

Hide AdThe post said: “Sadly we closed yesterday after twenty eight years of our fabulous team making and serving top quality home made food under the leadership of the amazing Tracy Woods who worked here all that time.
“Thank you to all our customers and people over the years for making this a Doncaster institution
“See you again some day.”
The venue was famed for its genteel atmosphere and olde worlde afternoon teas, cakes and sandwiches.
Upset customers have expressed their sadness at the shutdown.
