Curtain up on pit life drama

A ROTHERHAM theatre group is providing a gritty slice of South Yorkshire mining life in a new show.

Third Nail Theatre returns to the town’s Civic Theatre in October with a heartrending slice of 1960s local life.

The Glee Club is the story of five hard-working, hard-drinking singing miners - who find their harmony ballads are wiped out by the swinging ’60s music scene written by Doncaster playwright Richard Cameron.

The Glee Club will be performed at the Catherine Street venue from Thursday October 4 until Saturday October 6, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost 7.50, or 5.50 for concessions.
