Cruelty turns my stomach

Thank you for your report on animal cruelty (Aug 13). What do other readers think?

A cat was tortured and left to die a slow, painful death in the woods on Dykewood Drive, Wadsley.

How can anyone do that to a poor, defenceless animal? They must be very sick in their mind. What sort of coward picks on a creature that can’t fight back?

I hope whoever it is owns up and gets proper psychiatric help. What kind of society do we live in when people get away with such cruelty? It turns my stomach.

sheffield By The Sea’s a good idea if you have loads of money to spend on the rides. But they are too in-your-face. You can’t avoid them. I’m not mean but the kids put you under immense pressure to go on them. When I was in town, the rides were empty and at £1.50 a time you can see why. The Bank of Mum and Dad has to say no sometimes.

Rich Joe Public

I Think I’ve cracked it. The Government tells us to tighten our belts and accept pay and pension cuts so we can get the country out of debt. What they don’t tell us is that Joe Public was getting too big for his own good. We started to get two cars, have a couple of holidays a year, buy our own homes, demand higher wages etc. So the Government decides they can’t have us getting too close so they divert our income and take it off us.
