Crown Jewels to go on show in Doncaster next week
The world famous Crown Jewels are set to go on show in Doncaster's Frenchgate Centre from Monday.
Well, sort of.
Shoppers will be able to catch a glimpse of replicas of the priceless artefacts which are kept permanently under lock and key at the Tower of London.
The free display between May 23 and June 4 is to celebrate The Queen's 90th birthday and will reveal some of the country's most stunning replicas of the Crown Jewels.
A spokesman said: "Come and visit us in the Frenchgate shopping centre this spring to see the awe-inspiring Crown Jewel Exhibition as we celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
"Our “Jewels in the Crown” exhibition will showcase some of Britain’s most spectacular Crown Jewel replicas.
"Visitors will be given the exclusive opportunity to see some of the monarchy's most prized assets in a range of displays including stunning replicas from Queen Victoria, Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton."
The exhibit itself will be displayed throughout the shopping mall and will showcase over 30 regal and prestigious pieces from different points in British history. Not only will visitors be given the opportunity to see these stunning pieces you will also be given the chance to learn the interesting and unusual stories behind each induvial piece.
