Crowds expected to flock to Christmas market in Sheffield suburb

Streets in a Sheffield suburb will be lined with stalls selling gifts, food and wares crafted, baked and produced locally.

Crowds are expected to flock to Sharrow Vale Road on Sunday, December 13 for the popular Sharrow Vale Christmas market.

The market is popular with those looking for ‘not on the high street’ gifts.

There will be some demonstrations, including lathe turning.

It is also a favourite with food lovers, with duck fat roast potatoes and smoked trout among the items due to be on sale.

Santa will be making an appearance in his grotto and musicians will provide entertainment, with the Salvation Army, Viva Voce Chamber Choir and the Nick Bennett Trio among those due to perform.

The Yard, behind Otto’s in Steel Road, will open its doors to the public, where eclectic and collectable antiques, vintage and retro pieces will be on sale.

Sharrow Vale market, held every few months, is organised by the Sharrow Vale Community Association, aimed at supporting local businesses.

The Christmas stalls will trade from 12-4pm.
