A young man remains in hospital in a serious condition after he was shot in a Sheffield street.

The 18-year-old was shot in his leg when violence flared on Queens Road, Heeley, on Thursday night.

He is believed to have been involved in a fight with a number of men near to Halfords.

The gunshot victim was taken to hospital on the night of the attack and is expected to spend around a week there.

Detectives are treating the shooting as a targeted attack.

They have not yet released any descriptions of those involved.

No arrests have been made.

Extra police patrols have been ordered in Heeley over the weekend in the aftermath of the shooting.

South Yorkshire Police has released details on seven shootings in Sheffield so far this year.
