Young man killed in New Year's Day stabbing in Sheffield

A murder investigation has been launched after a young man was stabbed to death in a fight in Sheffield on New Year’s Day.

An 18-year-old man was killed in an attack on St Aidan’s Road, Norfolk Park, at around 4.20am.

South Yorkshire Police said officers responded to ‘reports of a fight between a group of men’ and found a seriously injured man with stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

The victim has not yet been formally identified, but his family has been informed of the killing.

Three men, two aged 18 and one aged 20, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody tonight.

The crime scene is sealed off and under police guard while enquiries into the fatal stabbing continue.Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 458 of January 1, 2020.
