South Yorkshire crime: XL Bully and £2,000 worth of cannabis seized as Rotherham warrants lead to 13 arrests
Thirteen people were arrested in warrants which led to £2,000 worth of cannabis and an XL Bully dog being seized yesterday (June 5).

Hide AdSeven warrants were executed across Rotherham as part of Operation Duxford, with people arrested for a range of offences including drug supply, robbery and immigration breaches.
A warrant executed near the town centre saw officers uncover around 300 cannabis plants and arrest one man.

Hide AdAnother search resulted in an XL Bully dog being seized, along with £2,000 worth of cannabis, and two people were arrested.
Officers made four arrests for immigration offences and two arrests for disqualified driving and vehicle theft.


Temporary Detective Inspector Laura Greatwood, who led yesterday’s operation, said: “We have seen a large quantity of drugs wiped off Rotherham’s streets.

Hide Ad“We have made several arrests across the borough helping to disrupt criminality, as well as helping to protect the local community.”
Operation Duxford aims to crack down on drug supply and protect vulnerable people from exploitation in Rotherham.


Multiple agencies worked together with South Yorkshire Police, including the Home Office and Department of Work and Pensions.

Hide AdOfficers carried out drug engagement work in local schools and elsewhere in the borough to help raise awareness of the operation.
Members of the Mounted Unit also patrolled Rother Valley and the town centre.
