Woman tragically dies in hospital after she was hit by car in horror crash
Police are appealing for witnesses after an 80-year-old woman sadly died following a collision in the Hoyland area of Barnsley on Wednesday 3 December.
It is reported that at around 12:30pm, the 80-year-old pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car, a red Nissan Juke, on Hoyland Road.
Police, paramedics and the air ambulance attended the scene. The woman was taken to hospital with what the police described as “life threatening injuries”.
The road was closed while police investigated the incident.
South Yorkshire Police has today (December 9) reported that the woman sadly passed away.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, particularly any motorists who were travelling along Hoyland Road who may hold dash cam footage, or properties not already spoken to in the local area that hold CCTV footage.
