Woman sexually assaulted by football fan on train between Derby and Sheffield

A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a footbal fan on a train between Sheffield and Derby.

The victim reported a man, part of a group of Rotherham football fans, grabbed her bottom.

British Transport Police said the incident happened on Saturday, September 28, between 8.45pm and 9.30pm.

In a statement, the force said: “The suspect is described as white, aged in his mid-twenties, 5ft 9, with short blonde hair and of a stocky build.

“He was wearing a beige Stone Island sweat shirt with a white t-shirt underneath and blue skinny jeans.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who knows the identity of the man involved, is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference number 600 of 28/09/19.

“Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
