A woman was sexually assaulted in a Rotherham park by a man claiming to be an undercover police officer.

The 39-year-old victim was approached by the man, who said he was a police officer, before grabbing her and dragging her to the back of an accountancy firm, where he attacked her.

Police said the woman had cut through Narrow Twitchell to Whybourne Terrace, Clifton, when she was approached by the attacker.

A passer-by intervened and called the police.

The attacker was white, between 20 and 26 years old, around 5ft 9ins tall and very slim.

He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a dark coloured baseball cap, a dark zip up jacket, jeans and trainers.

He smelled strongly of aftershave and was carrying a satchel.
