Woman rushed to hospital after suspected Sheffield drug dealer abandoned her in crash

The girlfriend of a suspected drug dealer who left her behind after he crashed the car they were travelling in was hospitalised by her injuries.

The woman in her 20s was helped from the 4x4 vehicle, registered to a Sheffield address, which hit a telegraph pole during a police chase in Dronfield at around 12.20am this morning.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: ”Both the man and the woman were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not thought to be life-changing or threatening.”

The woman’s boyfriend, a 29-year-old man from Sheffield, left her behind in the mangled wreckage as he tried to run away from the scene.

He was arrested on suspicion of drug offences after officers found suspected Class A drugs inside the car and £1300 in cash, which was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
