Police, fire crews and at least one ambulance were seen on Rivelin Valley road, Malin Bridge, at around 5pm on Thursday (9 April), with a police cordon stretching back to Loxley Road.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed they were there to help a woman trapped on some rocks near the bridge. Fire crews used a turntable ladder attached to a fire engine to get the woman down to safety.

It is not known if she required hospital treatment.
