Woman injured as car flips after hitting tree

A WOMAN was taken to hospital with two broken wrists after the car she was travelling in ran out of control on a bend, smashed into a tree and flipped onto its roof.

The 37-year-old Rotherham woman was the front seat passenger in a silver Citroen Xsara which failed to negotiate a bend on Droppingwell Road, Kimberworth.

Police said the car was travelling west from Kimberworth towards Blackburn when it left the road.

The injured woman was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital for treatment and later discharged.

The driver, a 35-year-old Rotherham man, escaped with slight facial injuries.

Witnesses to the incident at 3.25pm yesterday should call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020 and quote incident number 623 of February 28.
