Woman hunted by police after tram conductor in Sheffield is slapped

The woman pictured in these CCTV images may be able to help with a police investigation into an alleged assault aboard a Sheffield tram.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Launching a CCTV appeal today (Monday, October 21, 2024), in a bid to trace the woman pictured, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It is reported that at 4.39pm on Tuesday 8 October, a passenger on a Supertram service to Middlewood assaulted a tram conductor by slapping him.

“It is further alleged that they left the tram without paying the fare.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and officers have released images of a woman they would like to speak to as they believe she could aid police in their investigation.

“She is described as a white woman, between 30 and 40 years old, of a medium build, and with shoulder-length brown hair.”
