Woman arrested for attempted murder after Sheffield stabbing leaves man in 'critical condition'

A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 26-year-old man was stabbed in Sheffield.

Police were called to a house on Poole Road, Darnall at 3.09am on Saturday (18 July) after reports of a stabbing.

The victim was rushed to hospital with stab wounds. He remains there “in a critical condition”, police said.

The woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody. The entire street was cordoned off by police until Saturday afternoon.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to an address on Poole Road in Darnall at 3.09am this morning after reports that a man had been stabbed

"Officers attended the scene and a 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. He remains in a critical condition.

"A 25-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. She remains in custody at this time. Enquiries are ongoing.”
