Woman, 64, seriously injured after being hit by car in Barnsley

A 64-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after being hit by a car in Barnsley.

The collision took place at the junction between Manvers Way and Pontefract Road just before 7am on Friday morning (11 September).

The car – a black Audi A4 S-Line – was being driven towards Manvers on the A633 when it reportedly collided with the woman, who suffered serious injuries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage that could help their investigation to come forward.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a collision in Barnsley this morning.
