Police in Sheffield are investigating a series of thefts from cars parked across the city.

Thefts have been reported from vehicles on: Psalter Lane, Nether Edge; Bluecoat Rise, Brincliffe; The Dale, Woodseats; Cemetery Road, Sharrow; Laverdene Drive, Totley; Abbeydale Road, Abbeydale and Rushdale Road, Meersbrook.

Police officers investigating the thefts said a works vehicle on Gervase Avenue, Lowedges, was broken into after the lock was drilled to gain entry.

A number of vehicles parked in the city have also had items stolen from them.

Number plates were taken from vehicles on: The Meads, Norton; Kenwood Road, Nether Edge and Norton Lane, Norton.

A wing mirror and wipers were taken from a car on Archer Road, Millhouses.

Officers are also looking into the theft of diesel which was siphoned from a vehicle left on Stalker Lees Road, Sharrow.
