Girl, 13 allegedly pulled into Rotherham woods & sexually assaulted by boy of similar age with Scottish accent

Police are investigating after a 13-year-old girl was allegedly pulled into woods in Rotherham, before being sexually assaulted by a boy of a similar age with a strong ‘Scottish accent’.

Members of the public are being asked to come forward with information on the sexual assault, which is alleged to have happened at around midday on either Saturday, May 11, 2024 or Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Launching an appeal today (Thursday, July 4, 2024), a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The girl reported to officers she was walking alongside Wickersley Woods when she was pulled into the woods and assaulted by a boy she believes to be of similar age or slightly older than her.

“He has been described as white with freckles, blue eyes, and a large nose, around 5ft 9ins tall, and of a bigger build.

“He also has a strong Scottish accent.”

The spokesperson said enquiries are ongoing and the force is appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact them on 101.
