Why you may have seen Channel 4 TV crews filming in Sheffield recently

Cameras from real-life emergency services show 999: What’s Your Emergency? have spent the last few weeks on duty with officers from South Yorkshire Police in Doncaster, Sheffield and across the county, capturing some of the drama and incidents staff face on a day to day basis.

Crews have been spotted on patrol with officers in Intake and Clay Lane in Doncaster.

The programme began airing on Channel 4 in 2012 and previous series have featured the work of the police, ambulance and fire services in places such as Blackpool, Wiltshire and Northamptonshire.

The show uses a mixture of real world filming as well as one on one interview commentary from members of the emergency services to convey the stresses and strains of the emergency services.

It is not clear when the SYP episodes will be aired.
