South Yorkshire Police have revealed why the force’s helicopter was up over Sheffield today.

The distinctive chopper was seen hovering over the Wybourn and Sky’s Edge areas shortly 1.30pm today, and was in the air for about 30 minutes.

A police spokesperson said that the aircraft had been deployed to search for a stolen motorcycle, which had subsequently been found.
