A MAN has been charged in connection with a disturbance at a wedding reception in a Sheffield hotel, where a gun was fired.
The man was arrested and questioned over the incident at the Sheffield Park Hotel, Meadowhead, after officers were informed at around 8pm on Sunday.
Nobody was injured but terrified guests hid under tables and others fled when a man brandishing a gun opened fire as a newly-married couple celebrated their wedding day with family and friends.
One eye-witness, who was a guest at the wedding, told The Star the gunman was eventually disarmed by frantic friends and relatives of the bride and groom.
“It was a big Asian wedding and all the men and boys were in one room and the women and girls in another,” he said.
Police said three men were arrested over the incident.
One has since been charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The other two have been bailed.
