The factory was found with 147 plants which were seized by officers from South Yorkshire Police's Fir Vale Team, at the address on Bolsover Road.

Sgt Phil Mackey said: “This quantity of cannabis could lead to up to £500,000 worth of criminal gains in a year. This cash often funds more serious and organised crime so it’s vital that we take action.

“It also goes without saying that the impact of living in close proximity to a setup like this can be hugely detrimental to people’s quality of life. The knock-on effect to the community can be huge.”

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
