A fleet of police vehicles and fire engines parked outside the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and made plenty of noise for their fellow front line workers at around 8pm as part of the third weekly ‘clap for carers’.

The vehicles turned on their lights, including the sirens, for an eye-catching spectacle.

Elsewhere in Sheffield people could be heard clapping and banging instruments to show their appreciation.
