Warning over charity fraud

Have your say

POLICE in South Yorkshire are warning people about bogus leaflets being distributed claiming to be from the Troop Aid charity.

They are asking for items including clothing, bed linen, toys, belts and handbags, but the charity has told police it does not send leaflets out, so residents are being urged not to make any donations.

Troop Aid collects clothing and then uses the funds to help injured servicemen and women when they return home. The charity posts bags to households and then D&P Textiles collect the bags.

Police patrols have been stepped up to try to find those responsible for delivering the fake leaflets.
