Warning for those shielding Sheffield man suspected of murder
Abdi Ali, aged 29, has been named as a ‘significant’ suspect by detectives investigating the murder of a man who was battered to death in his home in Cleethorpes in July 2018,

Hide AdShaun Lyall, 47, was attacked with golf clubs, screwdrivers, a knife, scissors and length of wood, with the motive said to have been missing drugs and cash that he was supposed to have been looking after.


Craig Whittle 45, of Corporation Road, Grimsby, was jailed for life over the murder but jurors were told that Ali was also involved.
Ali, known as ‘Madman’, ‘Madders’ and ‘Gulaid’, was born in Somalia but moved to Sheffield as a child.

Hide AdHe moved to the east coast in the summer of 2018 but still has links to Pitsmoor and Shirecliffe in Sheffield.
Posting on Facebook, Mr Lyall’s mum Serena said: “Police are still actively hunting Abdi Ali in connection with a particularly brutal murder.
“Anyone shielding him will face arrest and serious charges.”

Hide AdDuring Whittle’s murder trial, jurors heard that Mr Lyall was found with 170 separate injuries on his body after he was tortured.
Whittle was living with Mr Lyall at the time of his death and was said to have been involved in helping Ali deal drugs.
The search for Ali has previously featured on the BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow but he continues to evade arrest.
