Have your say

SPARE wheels were stolen from two Ford Transit vans in the Chesterfield area, after two thefts the weekend before.

Last Saturday night, wheels were taken from a van parked on Avenue Road, Whittington Moor and another parked on Manor Road, Brampton.

The previous weekend a van was targeted on Church Street, Unstone and another on Holland Road, Old Whittington.

Inspector Dave Stone, of Derbyshire Police, said: “Since the start of July, there have been four reports of spare wheels being stolen from Transit vans in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire area.

“The spare wheel is costly to replace and it would take some effort to remove it from underneath the van, so I urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact police.

“Van owners can improve security by parking their vehicle in a locked garage, if they have one, or in a well-lit place.”

n Anyone with information should call police on 101.
