Police want to speak to these 10 people who were spotted on CCTV cameras

Detectives have released CCTV images of 10 people they want to speak to over crimes they are keen to solve.

With cameras now routinely used by police to observe offenders in the act or to try to identify culprits, victims and witnesses, South Yorkshire Police regularly releases images of those pficers want to trace.

And in the last couple of weeks, South Yorkshire Police has published a spate of appeals in connection with crimes ranging from serious assaults to burglaries.

Now we have collated pictures of 10 people wanted by cops over crimes committed in over the summer.

Police think those in the pictures could have important information to help them solve crimes.

One of the incidents saw a woman burgled at her home on Neill Road, off Ecclesall Road, on May 25.

Items including a wallet, laptop, and iPad were reported as stolen. It is believed that the burglary took place between 7.20pm and 7.52pm.

Police carried out several enquiries, before releasing a CCTV picture of a woman they would like to speak to.

She is white, in her 30s, of a slim build, with blonde hair and brown roots. She has tattoos on her right shoulder and above her right eyebrow.

Three of the pictures relate to a violent incident at around 3.50am on Sunday, June 21, when a glass was thrown at a man's face in Molly Malone's on West Street.

The victim received facial injuries which are not thought to be life-changing.

A short time later, the victim was said to have left the premises with another man, where violence flared again on nearby Orange Street.

Officers are also hoping cameras help them find a woman wanted over allegations of racial abuse aboard a bus on Arundel Gate in the Sheffield city centre at 3pm on Saturday, August 15.

She is described as a black woman in her 40s, who was wearing a bandana and lime green dress.

Another of the crimes officers want to solve is an attempted robbery in Waterthorpe.

A man got into an empty parked car on Thorpe Drive at 9.30am on July 24. He is understood to have used keys to unlock the vehicle.

The victim, and legal owner of the car, went outside when she saw what was happening, and was left bruised after what police described as “a scuffle”.

The man police want to trace is white man, of large build and around 5ft 8ins tall. He has short grey hair and is thought to be aged in his 50s or 60s. It is also understood that he spoke with a Birmingham accent.

Another appeal relates to an incident at the KFC on Queens Road, when two men went inside and began throwing items at staff and verbally abusing them, before pushing them and hitting one in the face.

That was at 9.50am on August 13 and the men police are keen to trace are white, aged in their late 30s to early 40s, of a stocky build and around 6ft tall.

The first man is described as having short, light brown hair with stubble, and has a forearm sleeve tattoo on his right arm extending onto the back of his hand.

The second man is described as having short, dark brown hair with stubble, and has tattoos on the back of both his legs, hands and sleeve tattoos on both arms.

And another incident saw officers release pictures of a man and woman over an incident in Whiston, Rotherham.

It followed an alleged assault outside the toilets of a building on Pleasley Road, when a man was said to have been attacked by another man.

The victim sustained minor injuries in the incident at 11.15pm on July 11.
