‘Violence threats’ suspect hunted

POLICE in Sheffield want help in tracing a man they claim has made a series of violent threats.

Officers hunting Leslie Bowling, aged 44, from Woodhouse, Sheffield, stress that he should not be approached “under any circumstances” by members of the public.

Instead, anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to dial 999 immediately.

Bowling is white, 6ft 2ins tall, slim, with short hair which is receding at the front.

South Yorkshire Police said all their efforts to find him since he went missing on Monday, February 21, have so far failed.

A spokeswoman said: “Police are making enquiries as to the whereabouts of 44-year-old Leslie Bowling from the Woodhouse area of the city.

“Officers in Sheffield want to speak to Mr Bowling following allegations he has made serious threats of violence towards a number of people known to him.

“Officers are actively looking for Mr Bowling but so far have been unable to trace him, and are now turning to the public for help to find him.

“Members of the public are urged not to approach him under any circumstances but to report his whereabouts to the police immediately.”

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call South Yorkshire Police on 999 quoting incident 1,063 of February 12.
