Village street sealed off after man assaulted with weapons by two men

A Doncaster residential street has been sealed off by police this afternoon after a man was assaulted with weapons by two other men.

Dozens of police officers and ambulances have flooded Armthorpe this lunchtime following the incident in Larch Drive, near to the Elachi restaurant and Mill Street shopping precinct.

The street has been cordoned off and the victim taken to hospital.

There are unconfirmed reports that a handcuffed man was seen pinned to the ground by officers.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said "We received a call at 11:40am today for reports of an assault on Larch Drive in Doncaster.

"It is reported that two men assaulted a man with weapons.

“The victim sustained injuries to his leg. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"A scene is in place on Larch Drive and enquiries are continuing.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 371 of 2 July 2020."
