VIDEO: Screams heard in 'racially-aggravated' assault in Sheffield

The attack is reported to have happened on Saturday (June 13) just after 6pm, when a 19-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man were walking past Yates on Cambridge Street.
They said a large group of men began shouting racist remarks at them before the 55-year-old man was ‘punched in the face’.

Hide AdIn the video, which was posted to Twitter, a woman is heard screaming before a man appears to be knocked to the ground.
A concerned bystander can be heard saying in the background, “Oh my god, let’s the call the police.”
The faces of the people involved in the video have been blurred out for legal reasons.
Officers investigating the incident have since released images of three men they are keen to identify as they may hold vital information.

Hide AdThey are also appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Kevin Smith, the investigating officer at South Yorkshire Police, said: “This attack has left the victims extremely shaken and we need to make it very clear this this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Sheffield or across South Yorkshire.
“Since the incident was reported we have carried out numerous enquiries including speaking to people who were in the area at the time, as well as extensive analysis of CCTV footage.”
A 27-year-old man from Sheffield who was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault in connection with this incident and 27-year-old man from Barnsley arrested on suspicion of assault have both been released on bail.
