Sheffield Wednesday fans faced increased security in the wake of the Paris attacks as they attended today’s game at Hillsborough.
Following consultation with counter-terrorism officers from South Yorkshire Police, supporters were banned from bringing in flasks and Tupperware, while more stringent searches of bags and backpacks took place.
Extra police officers were at the game, with South Yorkshire Police warning supporters prior to the match that anyone bringing pyrotechnics into the ground would be arrested.
More than 21,000 people attended the game against Huddersfield, which Wednesday won 3-1.
Supporters also took part in a minute’s silence to remember the 130 victims who died as a result of the terrorist attacks in Paris.
Among the targets of the ISIS terrorists was the Stade de France stadium, where France were playing Germany.
