The victim of a stabbing in Sheffield city centre remains in hospital nearly two weeks on.

A 23-year-old man was attacked in Barker’s Pool at around 4.23am on Sunday, December 29 and was given emergency first aid by passers-by until emergency services arrived at the scene.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and remains there today.

A huge pool of blood could be seen on the ground where the injured man was found by emergency services outside the John Lewis department store.

No arrests have yet been made but South Yorkshire Police said officers are still interviewing witnesses.

CCTV footage from in and around the city centre has been examined in a bid to identify those involved.

South Yorkshire Police said: “It is believed several attackers were involved, however enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what took place.”
