Victim released from hospital after shooting in Sheffield

A man shot in a Sheffield street has been released from hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The 22-year-old was targeted as he sat in a silver Vauxhall Corsa on Hill Street, close to the junction with London Road, at 1pm on Friday, January 24.

South Yorkshire Police said a gun was fired at him as he was approached by ‘persons unknown’.

He suffered a single gunshot wound to his shoulder and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

South Yorkshire Police said the victim is ‘expected to make a full recovery’.

A police cordon was put in place around the crime scene while a forensic examination was carried out but those involved have not yet been tracked down.

Anyone with information about the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident reference number 427 of January 24.
