Van set alight in arson attack on Sheffield street

A van dumped and set alight on a Sheffield street had been stolen.

The Citroen Relay was taken from Sycamore Avenue, Dronfield, at some point between 11am and 8pm on Saturday after the house it was parked outside was broken into.

The owner of the works van only became aware of the theft and burglary when he was contacted by South Yorkshire Police to say the van had been found.

It was engulfed in flames on Queen Mary Road, Manor, at around 9pm on Saturday.

Firefighters were called.
