Two men charged over murder of 53-year-old man in Sheffield

Two men will appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Friday, May 22) charged with the murder of 53-year-old Paul Crossley, who died on Friday, May 15.

South Yorkshire Police have charged two men with the murder of 53-year-old man, Paul Crossley who was died following a fight on a Sheffield estate last week. Sean Holt, 43, of Longley Hall Way, and Richard Ferrie, 44, also of Longley Hall Way, will both appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court.

Mr Crossley died after he suffered a serious head injury following an altercation between a group of men on Longley Hall Way, Longley, between 9pm and 10pm on Friday, May 15.

The 53-year-old was taken to hospital in Sheffield to receive treatment but passed away due to the injuries on May 19.

Holt and Ferrie will remain in custody ahead of tomorrow’s court appearance where they will face murder chargers.Officers have issued their thanks to the community for their support and assistance following Mr Crossley’s death.

Police are keen to speak want to witnesses who were in the area between 8pm and 11pm on 15 May, or anyone who knows anything about the events leading up to the attack.

People who have dash cam or CCTV footage and also encouraged to share this with officers.
