Two men bailed after discovery of stolen vehicle 'chop shop' in Sheffield

Two men discovered in a stolen vehicle ‘chop shop’ in Sheffield have been bailed after police questioning.

The Sheffield men, aged 18 and 33, were arrested after police raided commercial premises on Meadowhall Road, near Meadowhall shopping centre, on Tuesday.

They were held on suspicion of the the theft of motor vehicles after officers raided the industrial unit and found the remains of a number of stolen vehicles as well as a number of car parts.

Detective Inspector Andy Shields said: “This is a really great find, which has led to the recovery of a large quantity of suspected stolen car parts.

Police officers discovered a vehicle 'chop shop' on Meadowhall Road, Sheffield, this week

“We have also seized a vehicle from the location as part of our enquiries.

“I’d ask anyone who knows anything about this site to get in touch as our investigation continues.”

Police officers have spent a number of days at the site examining the premises.
