Two men arrested in Page Hall for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs
Two men were arrested in Sheffield’s notorious Page Hall neighbourhood for possession with intent to supply suspected Class A drugs.
The men, aged 24 and 36, were arrested on Tuesday (24 November) after officers stopped a vehicle in the Hinde Street area and recovered a quantity of suspected drugs and cash.
One of the men fled the vehicle but was later detained “without incident” alongside the other suspect, police said.
The troubled suburb continues to be blighted by a number of issues including fly-tipping, overcrowded homes, litter, rats, anti-social behaviour and large groups congregating on the streets at all times of the day and night.
A new police team has started working in the area as part of a crackdown on crime.
Councillor Mark Jones, who represents Page Hall, previously told The Star drug supply is not currently an issue there.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The men have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
